Sponsored Hot Air Balloon Ride

The idea of going up in a hot air balloon scares the shit out of me but I am more than willing to do it for charity, especially the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. This ambluance service saves lives across the area but receives no government funding, it is all from donations.

Save our Post Offices from the MP's Cuts

Our community petition is calling on the Government to put a stop to any further closures of Tamworth.

Petition to close problem underpasses

Tamworth is a town with has about 58 underpasses, many are now completely unnecessary. With the exception of a few they now only serve to attract anti-social behaviour and vandalism, causing misery for neighbours and residents alike. As a result of this anti-social behaviour many are no longer used by residents.

The underpasses in Tamworth belong to Staffordshire County Council and they do not make funding available for the underpasses to be filled in.

Therefore we are asking the government to make funding available for a project to remove as many of the unwanted underpasses in Tamworth as possible, using public consultation to target the most unwanted. Removing many of the underpasses from our housing estates will have a marked improvement on the quality of life in Tamworth and will also serve to reduce crime in Tamworth.

Staffordshire County Council plans to axe Care Homes across Staffordshire. Although we recognise that there is an increasing number of elderly people requiring care and that a long term strategy for their care is needed, we do not believe Staffordshire County Council has acted properly in this matter. Their approach has been amateurish; they have failed to properly consult with carers, the elderly or their families and they have not given care homes enough time to develop their own business plans.

Your local Conservatives believe that the current plans should be opposed. We are calling on the County Council to return to the drawing board and develop fresh proposals and consult properly with local people.
