So who is Councillor Robert Pritchard?
I am
a councillor elected to represent the Belgrave ward on Tamworth Borough Council, this area covers the Park Farm &
Field Farm Estates, Birds Bush, Wilnecote Lane,
Kettlebrook (South of the A5) and Lakeside.
I
am also the Deputy Mayor of Fazeley.
Elected
in 2004 I was just 22 years old and quite dumb struck by the whole thing. I have since undergone the steepest learning
curve I have ever experienced and have progresses through many positions on Tamworth Borough Council.
Starting
fresh and raw in 2004 is took a position as vice-chairman of the environment and community safety scrutiny committee. I became
chairman after just 6 months.
In
2005 I moved onto a new challenge taking on the corporate governance & service improvement portfolio. This is
a position I still enjoy today and it provides me with many challenges and much satisfaction.
In
2007 I stood for election to Fazeley Town Council to try and help out there and I was successfully elected. At the first meeting
I was elected deputy mayor by the council for which I am extremely humbled.
Along
this journey I have meet many good people especially the people of Belgrave who I represent. The Belgrave Residents Group
is always a joy to work with and we support each other in making Belgrave that little bit better.
I
hope to go on representing the Belgrave, Kettlebrook & Lakeside residents for many more years.
